Three Ways You Need To Show Up To Get Sponsored

Getting sponsored is not just about a proposal.

It is not just about the ask.

There is more that needs to happen in order for your sponsorship efforts to be successful, and as an influencer you have the power to bring in the type of sponsors and sponsorship your brand needs, but there are some key things you need to do in order to win.

Relationships Raise Money. This is important to understand. Relationships should never be one sided and all about ego. Ego misses opportunity often. Instead you want to show up to serve. Not just serve for the sake of being seen, but serve with a genuine attitude of wanting to simply help.

When I started in this industry, I would often reach out to event producers and coaches that were doing what I wanted to do and simply asked how I could serve.

Some of the best relationships I have, come from the type of service offered. There is nothing more appealing about a leader, than one how knows how to show up to serve.

You Have To Be In The Room To Play In The Room. People ask me all the time how I get so many opportunities. It’s simple. I show up. If you want to be seen by people in your industry who can help you or who you want to serve, then you need to show up. It’s as simple as buying a ticket and going to an event where you know those you want to connect with hang out. This doesn’t apply only to only to live events, as we can “show up” when someone does a Facebook Live or even show up in their Facebook group and engage with their content. The key? Just show up!

The Most Successful People Are The Most Accessible People. The number one thing I have learned in all my years in business and helping people learn how to get sponsored, is that the most successful people are people who make themselves available. They take the time to connect, engage, and make a difference with their presence. They are the people who show up to bring value to the table. They admire and give quality time to others and know that relationships are built on being available when necessary.

Take some time and consider where you need to show up or could show up even more. Do you need to become an even better relationship builder? Are you not showing up where you desire to be seen? Have you missed out on connections that matter because you will not make yourself available?

If your goal is to become an influencer in your industry or community, then you want to learn how to build relationships, how to play in the room, and how to be accessible. These three keys could lead to even more open doors of new opportunities, partnerships, bigger stages, and the ability to make the impact you want in the world.
